Update

Hi Everyone!

So I contacted Jeremy just to update him on what's going on and he's still on board with helping us out. He has amazing editing software and knows how to work the camera very well. When he's not on screen, he's going to be sitting right next to me pointing me in the right direction. Other than that, not much else has gone down.

preparing for production

Hi everyone!

So today Jonathan and I sat down together everything we were going to be doing for this project during spring break. Since Jonathan is going away next Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, we needed to film next Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. This will also give me some relax time during my spring break.

We proofread the script and everything is perfect. Now we just need to actually start shooting!

we need to re shoot

Hey everyone!

So I went to go view the footage from the scene at vista view park and let me tell you, it looks really shitty. The shots were really shaky and I think we could do better. I told Jonathan that we should refilm but he didn't think so. He thought it looked fine and he believes its the best we can do. I said to him that we are not going to use this footage and we will re-shoot. We're going to leave it for spring break because then we aren't rushed with everything. I believe we were very limited with time when we last filmed which is why everything looks rushed and carelessly made.

I hope the next time we film it will be different because I know I can do better.

Shooting

Hey everyone!

So Jonathan and I decided to film the scene at vista view park today. It went very well. We decided to use Jonathan as the main character because he and his girlfriend had that connection so the on-screen the acting will be superb. It took us a total of 2 and a half hours to film the entire scene.

Just to remind you guys, the scene that we filmed was the virtual date the main character and the girl go on. They did not have any lines but they would be laughing and talking the whole time. The reason why they don't have any lines in this scene is that we were going to add music to the scene and make it more of a montage of them having fun.

Script

Hey everyone!

We have finished the script! It wasn't too bad of a job because Jonathan and I worked together on it. We have not come up with the characters names so we just put Boy 1 (Main character), Boy 2 ( Friend), and Girl. When writing this script, I did some research on how to actually write a good script.
I used the website Writersstore.com because they had an article on how to write a screenplay: Scriptwriting examples and screenwriting tips. This article taught us how to properly indent and where everything should go in a script. This website was very useful and I recommend you guys read it if you are writing a script for the first time.

we have found a new shooting location

Hey everyone!

So Jonathan and I have been searching around for somewhere we can film in an apartment building in Miami. Luckily, Jonathan's girlfriend's brother has a friend who lives in Miami and is a filmmaker. We asked him if we could film a few shots there and he said that its no problem. This helps us out tremendously because we want the setting to be in a city, not in a suburb area. Since he's a filmmaker, he's going to help us with the shot choices we make so everything looks spot on.

Since Jonathan and I have to work on finishing the quarter out for school, we decided to film during spring break. The script will be done very shortly as Jonathan and I need to finish the ending.

Postcard, Website, Actos

Hi everyone,

So Jonathan and I met up for an hour today to discuss everything that's going on. We decided on who's going to be our actors for the film and who's going to be in charge of taking care of the website and postcard.

For the actors, I asked my friends Dylan and Jeremey for help. If we don't end up using Jonathan as the main character then we have to guys to decide from. We're going to play that by ear and probably see who can act better and such. Jonathan also asked his girlfriend to help us out with this and be the female role. She has acting experience since she has helped people out with short films in the past.

Jonathan and I decided that we were going to split up the website and postcard advertisement creation. I was going to make the website and he was going to make the postcard. Since I have made a website on wix.com before, I felt I should take responsibility for that portion. Jonathan will be helping me with it if I need anything because there is a lot to do.

Other than us working on the script, everything is going pretty well with the creation of this project. We hope everything goes to plan.
