The project is complete!!!

Hi everyone!!!

We are finally finished with the project WOOOOOHOOOOOO!!!! I'm going to take a moment and reflect on the project. I believe Jonathan and I did a very good job with this. Although we did have a lot of communication issues and time management issues, we got everything done and are super satisfied with our outcome. The only thing I can say we should have done differently is that we should have gotten all the filming done a lot sooner. There were many times that we were on a time crunch because one of our actors couldn't be there anymore so we were rushed. In the end, everything worked out and it looks amazing.
Thank you guys for being here on my DISCONNECTED journey haha. I hope you enjoy the short film!

Editing begins

Hi Everyone!

So the editing process begins today! I uploaded all the footage to my computer and began to edit on iMovie. All the shots look unreal and there aren't any problems with audio. What I need to include in some of the shots though are little sounds like a ringtone for when the phone rings and a school bell going off for the shots in school. I can't seem to think of any other problems that are happening to talk about.  I will get back to you guys shortly when I finish editing.

Filming part 2

Hi everyone!

Today Jonathan and I filmed the scene of the main character and his best friend in the bedroom. We finally decided on names for the characters. The main characters name is Alex and the best friends name is Ricky. Jonathan and I decided to not include the animated text messages on the screen but to show it on the phone very close up. I couldn't find a way to have the text messages on the screen because I need an app called Aftereffects and it cost too much money to buy so we had to think of an alternative. The audience can clearly see the messages up close so that won't be a problem.

We also filmed a shot where after alex is waiting for a response from the girl him and Ricky are just sitting in the room waiting. We have Ricky laying on the couch using his phone and Alex on the bed. Its a wide angle shot of the whole room so we can see the interaction between the two characters and how there is none. Thid shows how people are so enduldged in there phones that even when two friends hangout they are just constantly on it.

Park Scene

Hi everyone!

So Jonathan and I finally shot the park scene. We decided on having both characters wear clothing that is vibrant and tangy. Since the main characters only wear plain colors in the real world we thought it would be clever to allow them to wear whatever they want in the virtual world. The shots were mostly of them talking sitting down on the grass. Were attempting to somewhat make a montage of all these clips into one so the audience can see the long date they went on very shortly. A cool thing we thought of while filming was to have the main character appear in the shot by him opening his eyes and be a little out of breath. This signifies that they are in virtual reality. We end it the same way with the main character giving the girl a kiss and then closing his eyes again to return to reality.

Shooting

Hi Everyone!

So Jonathan gets back from his trip tomorrow so that means we can shoot. We decided to shoot the bedroom scene in my room so it can be an easy location to shoot at. My room has blackout shades so the camera won't show anything that's outside and we will be using other sources for our lights. We still need to decide when we are going to film the rest of the scenes. I think on Wednesday we can shoot the scenes in school since we only need the hallway.
